Description
With an emphasis on the success of the customer and a positive customer experience, responsible for the development of Learning Services’ Course Content Material for both Signature and Evolution product lines.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
 
General
  • Contribute in the achievement of the Professional Services Department’s goals. 
  • Ensure a “Wow” experience and demonstrate the corporate values in all interactions.
  • Establish and follow through with personal development goals to support the success of the company and personal growth.
  • Complete timely entry of time and expenses in project accounting system.
  • Seek to improve operational efficiency in the position as opportunities present.
  • Achieve component goals as noted on the yearly Professional Services Incentive Plan (PSIP) form.
  • Collaborate with team members to problem solve, share knowledge, facilitate effective team interactions, and encourage enthusiasm and innovation.
 
Content Creation Specialist:
  • Maintain existing courses, make sure that each of them are revised and improved, based on the recommendation of the instructors, consultants, students, and management.
  • Update and modify course contents to reflect any development and changes in the procedures or technology discussed in the course.
  • As directed, gather information from internal resources to create new course modules to be incorporated into existing courses.  Create new course content as needed.
  • Obtain the general curriculum and training objectives to generate mastery tests.
  • Stay current with media, audiovisual, and training aide trends to offer suggestions on improved methods.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to instructors and students when necessary. Ensure instructors have a clear understanding of the course materials prior to use.
  • Coordinate with Product Marketing and Professional Services Management for planning and designing the contents of training courses and activities.
  • Update current training trends and technologies and apply them as needed.
  • Create online courses, using multimedia authoring tools.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
 
Required:
  • Associates degree in business, marketing, sales, computer science; or related experience with references.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Content Creation Specialist or Technical Writer
  • Knowledge of computers and software applications such as word processor, database management, and presentation software.
 
Preferred:
Prior GP or WennSoft experience.
 
TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGY
Required:
PC's and various software language used as required.
Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
 
Preferred:
Prior experience using multimedia authoring tools such as DemoMate or Camtasia.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present technical information to a variety of potentially non-technical stakeholders.  Must be able to respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and  team members.  Able to communicate ideas and concepts clearly and accurately.
 
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Highly analytical and possess creative and intuitive problem-solving ability.
 
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, OR ABILITIES
Other skills needed to perform this job include:  active learning, active listening; critical thinking; complex problem solving; time management; customer service skills; social skills; administrative and clerical procedures; systems analysis; systems evaluation; project management; organizational and prioritization; and independent judgment and decision making skills.  Excellent writing and editing skills, be highly attentive to details.
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
